The right background music will enhance a video making it more engaging and interesting to watch. However, for the purposes of assessing your ability to use narration, please include at least 1 line of narration somewhere in your video. Depending on the style and design of your video, narration may not be needed in your video. You should use both video created by someone else (such as a YouTube video or a portion of a movie), and video created by you (the video you create should be edited film, rather than a photo montage). This can be a photo you took yourself, or one you find on the web. At least one digital image (a still image) must be used in the project. You may font variations in how they are displayed between your PowerPoint and Captivate project. Text layout and font types will need to be properly adjusted and tweaked. Importing slides is not a direct conversion and require some minor changes. ◦ Import PowerPoint or create a new project. There are many things to consider when importing PowerPoint slides into Adobe Captivate. If that happens, it is okay, you wouldn’t have known that without the plan. Once you begin making your module, you may find you need to do things differently than what you have in your storyboard or flowchart. Include possible video narration, text, interaction, animation, or assessment you will use in each part of module.

If you already have images you want to use, include those in the storyboard. Before building, importing, filming or editing, create your storyboard or flow chart. A storyboard or flowchart provide you with a plan for your module. See the attached storyboard template in the resource section. Don’t just upload Powerpoint slides, show and interact with us! Your module should add something to a person’s learning that would not be possible or easily done without online interaction and visual communication. eLearning modules are a visual and interactive medium. Typically this means a concept difficult to teach or portray without mixed interactive media. The concept you choose should be one that will utilize the medium of mixed media interaction and engagement that aims to enhance the learning. Not all concepts or instructional problems can be taught or solved as an online module. ◦ Choose an appropriate topic for your Captivate module.
